Our combined expertise in both education and specialist dyslexia assessment enables us to deliver a holistic, child-centred approach, ensuring that each assessment recognises individual strengths and identifies areas of need. About Me

Hello, I'm Amy, one of the co-founders of Great Minds Dyslexia Services.

With over 20 years of experience in education, I am passionate about helping children and young people understand how they learn best. I am a qualified Specialist Teacher and Dyslexia Assessor, holding Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), Level 5 and Level 7 Professional Diplomas in Literacy and Dyslexia, and an Assessment Practising Certificate (APC), enabling me to carry out formal diagnostic dyslexia assessments.

Before specialising in dyslexia assessment, I spent 12 years working as a primary school teacher, including the role of Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO). This experience gave me a thorough understanding of classroom learning, inclusive education and the practical support children need to succeed. Throughout my career, I have worked extensively with children and young people with dyslexia, literacy difficulties, ADHD, autism and other specific learning differences.

I believe that every child deserves to feel understood and recognised for their individual strengths. My assessments are thorough, personalised and designed to build a clear picture of how each learner processes information, alongside practical, evidence-based recommendations that families and schools can implement with confidence.

I am known for my calm, patient and approachable manner, taking the time to help every child feel comfortable, relaxed and supported throughout the assessment process. I aim to ensure that families leave with not only a greater understanding of their child's learning profile, but also the knowledge, reassurance and practical guidance needed to help them thrive.
